Rising Phoenix

The TFL was formed on December 30th, 2001.

It was formed by friends Deadly and Angls.

The Clan Deadly was currenlty in had recently disbanded(STA). And Angls was currently working on a new clan.

They had known each other from a previous clan, called DSD(Dark Sun Destroyers). Well, they set out and designed the basis for the clan, the leadership, the way things would work, and then they set out on a name.

It was Deadly who thought of the MYTH based name The Fallen Lords.

And so, with some friends of a clan going under and friends from past clans the TFL was formed, and is now in the cataclysm group almost 40 strong. We have made many friends and have proved our worth, and we are here to stay. There is consideration into spreading the clan..the first spread is possibly going to be into origional or homeworld 2..when it comes out..

thanks, AngeluS_TFL

No place like Homeworld

The Fallen Lords was formed in the waning days of 2001 by Deadly and Angelus.

TFL grew into a major Homeworld Cataclysm clan.

Many TFL remained active in Cataclysm until 2003.

Five members moved into Homeworld 2. TFL members met The Lone Star Command and through our friendship with them grew stronger in both skill and numbers.

The addition of nearly a dozen TLSC to the TFL ranks greatly enhanced our presence in Homeworld 2.

TFL Mad Bomber

The Empire strikes back

A new chapter begun.

TFL moved into Star Wars Empire at War.

Because we had our existing RTS skills it wasn't long before we made a name for ourselves.

We recruited some quality players and shared strats with eachother .

Our Clangames and our friendly no-worries attitude made us a wellknown clan only rivalled by the best

We had our fun filling the trophy case but the 2D couldn't keep us interested longer

Some of our members have bought the expansion pack but we have moved on to new RTS games

TFL Mad Bomber

The Diaspora

A new chapter begins.

TFL moved into Company of Heroes and Supreme Commander

We have a small core (6 players) in each game so far but recruitment is open

We will colonize. We will annex. We will conquer.

Our history beings anew and those who do not join us can precede us to the grave.

TFL Mad Bomber

Sinfull System

Another new chapter .

TFL moved into Sins of the solar Empire

We had a small core but many members moved to university and the older guys started families .

We started out good but the clan went into hibernation once it became clear the games simply took to long .

Rumors state they are working on homeworld 3.

TFL Tank0

Space Rangers

yup you guessed it , yet another new chapter .

TFL moved into Jericho Online .

We have a small but active division . And fighting and working together as a team

It is a simple free PHP game but everyone can play it no matter how oldschool their comp is and it keeps the ties active untill a next spac RTS comes around .

Rumors still state they are working on homeworld 3.

TFL Tank0

If it bleeds ,we can kill it

And then after a hibernation period we again came together to massacre and pillage .

TFL moved into Alien vs Predator and Operation Flashpoint - Dragon Rising .

We again have a small group to start with but lot's of familiar errr styles of posting ;) and funky english accents ( at least i think its english ) .

So if you want to kill some marines , predators or aliens check us out . If coop teamplay in a FPS is more your thing without the mandatory training BS check out our Operation flashpoint division .

QuarryTFLord's story

Memories of QuarryTFLord

TFL was made originally by 2 people. DeadlyTFL and AngelusTFL. They formed the foundations of this clan.

Same time I was starting to learn Cataclysm and before I knew it...I found myself to be the 3rd member of this clan. Soon DeadlyTFL lost interest and moved to other things and I have not heard of him since. It was just the 2 of us again and we were total noobs. But we learned, we gathered more noobs to join us and tought them what we had learned. There were many members that were lost in the sands of time but few of us stayed and kept on learning more and more.

Then the day came when we noticed we could go head to head against the best....and win. Clan started to grow exponentially. We noticed we had 30 members instead of 3. TFL had found its place among the other big clans and was no longer considered a noob clan.

And the rest is history...

Tank0's story ( part 1 )

well as strange as it might seem my TFL history starts with TLSC .
at that time the patch 1.1 for hw2 was about to be released .
fed up and tired to join two other randoms to fight chiken and other organised clans i decided to join up with friendly guys .
After a few weeks the patch was released and a shitload of strats went out of the window . no more plat rushes , instead the uberswarm time started. chiken and psa came up with some micros and they seemed impossible to beat.

luckily tlsc was massing some killer players like foree, drunk, bentusiguru, sirpsycho, and many more . Since tlsc wasn't a clan and was slowly moving on the hw2 players began forming or joining pro clans to fulfill their need for digital blood .
4e and folko started demon clan or revived it , not sure anymore .
imho you had 3 dominant factions in hw2 lobby: chiken, demon, and tlsc .

The chikens had proven to me that they weren't what i was looking for, lot of cool members but the rotton tomatoes in that clan ruined it for me.
demon clan, well i never applied because i couldn't stand ummon's stance vs newbs. they where l33t but also had a griever attitude.
then there was mad bomber who i met in tlsc and when we teamed up we could take out nearly every team they put up.

We were a lethal combination because maddie generalled and was a wizard with frigs. i, on the other hand, was by then a cutthroat swarmer, if i may say so myself, who only took control if no one else bothered. i think its safe to say we where one of the teams that switched main rush and swarm strat to hyperfrig and combined assault in lobby.
once people saw that a few flaks and some emp scouts could stop a swarm they quickly adapted. By then tlsc and demon clan came up with new strats . bents plat rush , mvb marine rush, the hyper cap, yeah fun times and every couple of days the strats evolved. chiken and many other clans came up with their own strats and counters were researched on a game by game basis .

EVE got released and many hw2 players moved on. mvb also moved on so tlsc dried up as a major players but still with alot of tlsc potential. mad bomber who never lost his TFL tags told me over and over again TFL ruled in cata and it was a shame TFL never moved on to hw2 .

To be honest i don't remeber if maddie recruited me or i applied but in time TFL seemed the logical solution for my problem. I wanted a friendly clan who valued skills but didn't forget about fun.

Once i joined i met some old school guys like inR, radical, and inert who accepted me with open arms and i knew i was home .

Tank0's story ( part 2 )

Bomba kept recruitng the top TLsC players and i wasn't long before the TFL became common place in lobby. gini came into hw2. he always claimed he was always there but fact is i never saw him online before Maddie established a TFL foothold. maybe he was smurfing, or maybe i never saw him although i almost lived in lobby but maddie was a lone ranger for TFL for a loooong time .
inR and inert made the move to hw2 and deltaforce ( aka Fatal aka Temmu ) applied.

Don't ask me how he did it but bomba talked trash 95% of the time but somehow he achieved his goal. Tfl was now a force nobody could deny.

I think it was around that time watcher joined TFL but he never became a forum dweller. skills between maddie and zanarkand but before we ever knew zanakand or should i say p5ynergy existed .

another quality player who came from tlsc is bigbangtheory. he not only brought skills but also a more relaxed view ot gaming and a more mature stance than bomba. his IT background proved to be useful too.

By then i got fed up with the forums we had on relic boards. It took ages to make any changes and one day i visited the boards to find out relic had moved on to DOW. We also saw that less active clans just got their boards scrapped without any warning.

Now this made me nervous since all our strats where on the boards .

I tried to find a solution to ask MVB to accept TFL as a hw2 club of tlsc but somehow tom, their admin didn't want to do it, although i had asked my fellow TFL to join tlsc just in case .

By then a few new clans popped up like celtic but those clans were lightyears behind on us. Because we didn't want to be a griever clan we tried to school them but some took it the wrong way . however, one of our core members came from such a clan , a little spunky kid who reminded me off bomba actually tried to hypercap me and bomba all alone while the rest of his clan was trying to figure out how to hyperjump.

my bombers ripped him apart but maddie had noticed him and soon after p5ynergy aka zanarkand was a fallen lord .

by that time i lost interest in hw2 so i started making maps and smurfing 'cause the TFL vs randoms ended up in 20 minute walkovers . other clans then chiken or demon didn't even dare to join a TFL vs game . we had a time we did internals but somehow gini didn't like this .

by then tlsc started out in guildwars and out of fear to miss the next big game i bought me a copy but mmorpg wasn't the thing for me to keep playing for months. people just buying gold and weapons ruined it for me. after a few months i returned to hw2 but soon enough i got bored again .( see zanarkand hw2 chapter )

i decided i maybe was a gamer for life but at that time i didn't feel the rush anymore. My first kid was about to be born and i got married so i decided to focus on a supporting role for TFL just like i had done in lobby.
i had turned my back on TLSC because they had moved on and the new recruits reminded me of a kindergarten.

i didn' t want to give up on TFL so i tried to figure out how we could safeguard the forums and strats. i made the first hw2 TFL website. i also found out that zan had made a free forum to support his map making but it wasn't used .
so i begged inert or inR to make me an mod on the relic TFL boards and asked zan to be made a admin on these boards .

once i had the necessary permissions i moved the forums after asking permission of my fellow TFL. i had a vision and TFL trusted me

i worked hard to move everything and motivate people to move with us to these forums. i learned how to mod themes so we could have our own forum themes, paid for the fallenlords.com domain and redid the site.

by then apoc had joined TFL either just before the move or just after but he became more TFL minded after he left TLSC for mostly the same reasons i did.

Tank0's story ( part 3 )

Now we had an independent forum, clan rep, zan's succesfull maps but we where slowly fading away.

zan and apoc jumped on a new game that promised space rts . star wars empire at war.

i played eaw alot in single because i liked the 3x part of the campaign but the land battles wheren't dune2 and space wasn't hw2. i felt like it could all have been alot better. By the time i played spaceskirmishes with my fellow TFL apoc and zan had recruited Sandino and together they analyzed the game and surprise surprise a killer strat. i believe to this day the developpers never intended us to play this way but there was no escaping it our strats rocked. soon enough apoc got us kicking ass from dusk till dawn. people quit, dropped, accused us of cheating but the developpers couldn't find anything wrong. they tried to patch the problem but we just adapted. With recruits like pink, mippit, lord of cheese and a friendly pwner called bclaytz the third gen had arrived and was going strong. we could claim ladders and bragging rights but our strength was clan team games. the day we beat the other two top clans (wich they ignore / deny till this day ) we lost the eye of the tiger. Slowly people got fed up with the technical problems and a bad expansion pack ruined it for most. I never played eaw online alot because it was 2d and rather repetitive if you join teams of semigods. bomba and me could join, know nothing and still beat skilled teams with a finger up our nose carried by uberbclaytz and the champion chaps.

by now blacksand mentioned a game called company of heroes a new ww2 RTS game. since i had seen all the ww2 movies they ever made and read a crapload of books about the subject i was very interested . even upgrade my entire gamerig to play the resource hog . but it was so worth it , they game blew me away . i won't say i started to cry but during some of the single player mission i got goosebumps of the images i saw . without a doubt one of the best single player game in RTS in years .

to be continued ........

brief admin comment

i ll write parts on

bomba , inert , inR , bbt , watcher , apoc , loc , bclaytz , fatal/temmu and others i can't remember the name right now ( ganja is good for many things but short term memory ain't one of them )

How does this work ?

In this screen you ll find all new info not yet confirmed by the admins . As soon as it has been confirmed it will be classified in a category .

If you are looking for something just go to the category you need ( example ventrilo -> server info )

This has been done to focus all up to date info in one independent protected place so you don't have to be a forumite to keep up

day 5 TFL own in 1st clan match (5mins 38 seconds)
day 6 TFL dominate... lol

No seriously.....

It was me and you that started it up, the div was my idea as I was interested before you was if I recall. Infact I think I brought the idea to TFL not very long after joining.

Then it was me you and Inr and we had a killer strat after a couple of days and we simply owned.

Members of note... Comsb, Bclay, Skull (mia) LoC,

TFL dominance over clans (check... ALL clans but 2) Cze and RsH. We beat RsH (they still don't admit it) 2-1 but the games were spotty apart from one sure fire win, never got resolved. Cze never got resolved although they won the last game I participated in straight after 1.5 patch...

TFL go dormant as dominant clan in space EaW effectively handing the top spot to clans such as TWNZ, THX and some other.

I started c&c3 and immediately had computer trouble followed by net trouble.... div never took off and died.

p5 = Analytical player Comsb = superior all round player Bclay = superior all round player Maddie = able to bend time to make his ships dance in hw2. Currently TFL's oldest member ??? superior espionage tank = uber abmin and superior team player BBT = TFL security - nothing gets past this boy!!

Bclaytz' story (part 1)

I had never played a game online before, but had always dreamed of playing against other humans (especialyl my brother!) as i have always been interested in strategy games. I started off on Commander and Conquer Red Alert waaay back when, but i had never really got the needed tactics from playing AI, as turtling is a valid tactic in this case.

So going online for the first time in EaW (after i had completed the campaign of course ) was quite a ?scary? experience as i had no idea what to expect. I cant really remember what my first few games were like, i probably took a pretty bad beating on some and won others, as i just played with randoms and as we all know some of them can be really atrocious! From playing with noobs, i learnt a few generalling tips, like using beacons and co-ordinating attacks. It soon became clear the name of the game was killing mines rather than pitched battles.

After playing with randoms for a while, i soon wanted to try clans to see if they had anything to offer, as playing Alderaan Defence with noobs became a bit tedious after a while :D So along came [EoN], a small UK based clan from some Star Trek game i had never heard of before. They were ok guys, but it soon became clear to me that they were nothing special in skills. It was around this time that i start to ladder, and began to learn something about the great names in the game. Everynow and then i would see TFL tags in the lobby, and see the lobby talk after their games always indicating they had a crushing victory. So obviously my respect for them (aswell as fear!) grew. As because i had mentioned earlier, i had no idea what sort of talent you could find online, and the only people i had been playing with were noobs so i KNEW there was better out there.

So i began laddering, to increase my knowledge of the game and its tactics, and played some great players like powerslave (who thrashed me on Yavin 4, to this day i dont know how he got his tartans around so fast) but who gave me some words of wisdom. It was around this time that [666] came along, with Jools and GenuineArticle etc, and i almost joined them, but decided to remain in [EoN] for a while longer. Then one day TFL came was hosted, and i joined in. I was with two randoms and we got utterly annihilated, so i quit before the game ended. Needless to say Apoc wasnt happy with that after the game But i was allowed in for some more games, thankfully.

Then out of the blue one day, someone called [TFL]WikiD message me, and i was like "who the hell is this?" lol as i did not know p5y had decided to change his name. But he asked me to join TFL, and i graciously accepted as i had great respect for you guys. But i couldnt work out why i never saw you in the lobby that often, and then i found out for the first time how to travel between servers! So off i hopped to USA and i was pretty shocked. Ten times the amount of players, and all the names i recognised from the top of the ladders were there. This was going to be fun!

My trial started, with a 2v3 game against another clan (i forget who it was now) but nerves had got the better of me. I wasnt sure what was expected of me so was very skittish with my game play. Needless to say we lost when we probably should have won, but it was still a great fight. I slowly got to learn the other TFL EaW members (many of whom i havnt seen since then basically lol) like Skullrazer, Mr.Pink, MattVADM, Armsm2, badmuthafucha etc.

It was also interesting to meet the other players from the forums that were not so much into EaW, and to study the old threads about HW2 etc to see how strategies developed. I felt pretty lucky to be with such a skilled clan, and had great times pwning all opposition in TFL. We had good rivalries, some because the other clan was skilled and others because it was too irresistable to crush them! Rivalries of note are with -6-6-6-, WFE (lol) and WKA. Sadly i missed the boat when you guys got to know RsH, and i never played a team game against cze either. All these rivalries happened between patches 1.3 and 1.4, with most skilled players leaving after corvette class ships were moved to tier 2, which ruined the initial battles of the beginning of the game. The whole game was changed from initial intense micro to a spam of fighters to gain map control. However tier 2 became more interesting as then Hero battles became the battle swinger, making for some great come back games.

Bclaytz' story (part 2)

But the TFL dominance of EaW was coming to an end, there were new kids on the block such as THX and the Butts. When we first met THX they were not that skilled, but they were really nice guys and were willing to learn, and came back for more beating after beating. They eventually learnt the ropes, and have become the dominant force on EaW to this day. I myself like to think it is all due to TFL tutelage, but maybe im wrong And the Butts, well, Quackk is a nob head for one and Head was overrated!

Thats my 2 cents for the time being, iv not really read it through so hopefully it flows ok and makes some sorta sense :D Il maybe add some bits in now n then if i remember anything more! And my memory isnt too great, so maybe the order isnt exactly chronological but im sure tis close enough!

Now to influential players, some that shaped the strategies, some that were lively characters and some that just need mentioning for the sake of it

Apocalypse: My first viewing of TFL was the core three of Apoc, WikiD and ComSB. Apoc seemed to be a born leader, myself viewing him as an Optimus Prime figure, so i had upmost respect for him. TFL wasnt a team without him onboard, he ALWAYS had your back, had the nebulon ready when you needed it most, harassed when you were busy elsewhere. Just knew what to do, exactly when to do it and did it extremely well! Also a great out of game leader, his talk adding insult to injury after we had just defeated some poor souls!

WikiD: Superior tactician, as you can tell from the old EaW archives. You can tell he pulls the game to its core pieces and thinks of some way to create new strategies. You can even follow his early thinking by reading the very early strategy pages, and its amazing to see how one little idea can be transformed into a killer strat. My best example of his ingenuity is with bomber micro. Its SO simple after someone has told you about it, but i never ever (and im sure never wouldve either!) thought if micro-ing a bomber squad to decimate a base. Just genius! Also very good micro, i remember on many occassions playing an internal game against WikiD. I could tell which corvettes he was controlling with out even knowing his colour, as they were constantly moving, chasing, retreating, just superior awareness.

CommanderSB: Amazing hero micro! If you ever want a headache, get your hero to fight against SB's and begin to cry when he gets you when you least expect it! Great great player for practicing against, always adapting his tactics and moving his units around, so you never know where he is going to get you from He is the pillar of a team game, as i mentioned before his ability to use his hero really keeps the team in the game. Whether it be Han or Bobba (Team Bobba ftw! ) damage is always being caused to the enemy. Great use of beacons to let the guys know what is going on.

Xianz: To be honest i dont know much about Xianz, other than he was an outstanding player and im sure he would have been more than welcome in TFL. Was it SB or Apoc who first found him? Anyways great player, knew his stuff and im sure with some more TFL polishing would have been a force to reckon with.

cze_powerslave: My first ladder game against a skilled was this guy, as i said above it was on Yavin 4. It was constant corvette patrols, but he seemed to always know where mine were. Needless to say he won, but the last words he said was "See you in top 20 :P" and so i followed his advice :D

WFE~Koath Nadius (or something like that?!): Hours of entertainment with this guy. He started the {n00b} clan as he utterly refused to play against TFL after WikiD and i beat them 2v4. So there we were, pretending to be 13 year old kids who cant spell right thrashing them ingame! Sadly i think the infamy of the {n00b} clan really started the hardcore smurfing in EaW, as soon after there were hundreds of them!

RsH Kidnapper: I played one game against this guy. It was in patch 1.5, and if memory is correct he left soon after 1.3? (need some more info on that Apoc/WikiD/SB) so had never played a game of 1.5 in his life. And as im sure you would have gathered from above, the patches were all extremely different from each other. Well to cut a long story short, we played a 1v1 on Bothan with spectators, i was Empire he was rebels. And he crushed me I cant remember what went wrong exactly, but he managed to get a large swarm of x-wings together and i did not have the cash for t2. So he went on a rampage, killing any mines i had regardless of health, blew up turrets before they could shoot a bullet and decimated my TIEs. GG Kidnapper

Bclaytz' story ( part 3 )

[DI]Hunglow: Had my longest 1v1 ever against this guy back in 1.3. Was on Naboo, he was rebels. Lasted over an hour of intense micro action and mine patrolling. He saved the cash for a SB upgrade, and got Han solo out. He managed to get map control, and the game was downhill for me after that. The gamed was 1 hour and 5 minutes, and the only reason it ended then was because he begged me to quit as he needed a piss lol! Im sure it would have lasted another 20 minutes atleast.

THX Gogolometro: Was nothing special to begin with, but he recognised the skills TFL had so took every chance he had to play against us, dragging some less than willing clanmates with him. Learnt that guerilla tactics are what wins team games easily, and took it upon himself to make THX a great clan, which he suceeded in. Kudos to him!

Lordofcheese: my only ever recruit, think he was previously known as GPBLOC (graham pinkbeef lord of cheese,i think it stood for ) and was the joker of any team. Im sure Maddie can vouch for that, after some burnt wookie after some fun land games! Was not too skilled when first met him, but i could tell with some tender love and care he could turn into an awesome player, and he did just that! Very reliable, knew his stuff and took the initiative. He then weened me onto the Dawn of War franchise, where the tables were turned. He was the skilled, i wasnt! But after some weeks we became a 2v2 team to be feared, taking on the most imba- spammin' sonsa bitches you could ever wish to meet!

Other players of note: Riodawg, Franksdad, Head, Dingo, Jools, Marsupial, Wanglong, Kenshin, Lord Cancer, WRF, Thunder, Tango, Blu2, DarthEarth, Redbaron, Arbitor, Antthug, Joni, Ibella, Gwadj...

Im sure there are more, but i cant remember right now. And all the other TFL players i have not mentioned, I remember having v ggs with you that were good fun, but i sadly i did not get to play with you guys enough to be able to write much

AND THAT IS THE END OF MY TALE! Thats put off revision for a good half hour atleast time for a cuppa and some starcraft lol

Mad Bomber's story

I started my online gaming in Cataclysm. I was playing 2v1 on a lan with friends when one of them said, "Hey you know you can play this online?" I thought wow! So I started playing and lol was I a noob. Crystals went boom and workers got blasted. I was in for a shock.

I met inR TFL and asked him about teaching me some things. He said ok and I started playing in more online games. My first hint that this was a bad thing was when my girlfriend would call and I would be busy in a game and not talk to her. Oh she would get mad!

I met ginius, apple, inr, crazybee, odin, meafy, and angelus. Ginius said that he stuck up for me when I was applying and people didn't want me to join since TFL was fairly elite at the time. Lucky me and lucky TFL lol I did get in. I still was no where near as good as their worst and I think that the only TFLs I could beat were Kushan, Radical Ed (14 years old), and maybe 1 other. I did nearly beat Apple during my application phase.

We played and played cataclysm to death. HW2 came around and I played that to death. I was the only TFL who seemed interested in recruiting and building a clan so I started gathering players. TankO was my first recruit. What a mistake that was lol! Tank and I played 2v2 until our fingers hurt and our eyes were bloodshot! He would swarm and I would go frigs to bc. Everyone thought I was the beast and TankO was riding my coat tails but lucky me he knew the score. I know there were other good players around but for TFL we were the first deadly duo of swarmer and heavy.

I started recruiting in earnest and soon had Blacksand, BigBangTheory, Temmu (Deltaforce at the time), Tsunami, Rapture, Whiskey, Zan (P5y at the time), Watcher, Cernunnos was a Zan recruit I think, Joker, Logan (a watcher recruit), Raemon (again some credit to other TFL), Winoman, and a few others who have come and gone. I hope I don't come across there as claiming credit for these people joining. TankO, Blacksand, Watcher, Winoman, Joker, Rapture, and BBT were the base and with the later additions of Zanarkand (in HW2) and Apoc (EaW and fps) loads of other people joined.

Lucky me to come along in TFL history just when the old guys were too apathetic to look around for talent. If we had a family tree I would be one freaking THICK branch. It took execution and these gamers to make TFL what it has become. OH on the TFL family tree I get to be the modern primates!

Sadly my TFL time is reduced, though probably for the better. I am studying my masters and not gaming anymore. My dog, girlfriend, study time, work, and the latest edition coaching American football (maybe playing soon) have led me to probably the end of my TFL story. It has been a good 6 years and I am proud to have been a part of a clan that has grown into something fantastic.

Thanks go out to all the guys I named from my HW2 days and to the EaW era of TFL, and the newst people who are populating TFL. You all gave me hours (who am I kidding) years of fun and friendship.
